Heavenly Lance of the Unicorn

The Lance was a low spear used in cavalry charges. It was rarely seen on Rokugani battlefields, used almost exclusively by the Unicorn and Ox Clans. Proper use of a lance required a horse with a stirrup saddle. The user tucked the lance under a shoulder, stood up in the saddle, and relied on the velocity imparted by his charging steed to drive the point deep into his opponent. Many lances shattered upon impact.
