Kuni Wazinu was a shugenja of the Crab Clan who became a Maho-tsukai during the Clan War.
Demeanor[]
Wazinu had been an apprentice to the Kuni Daimyo Kuni Yori for many years. He believed that any sacrifice that furthers the cause of the Crab was well worth it, including his own soul. His loyalty and service to the clan had been twisted by Yori until the young man felt nothing but devotion to his sensei. [1]
Doom of Fu Leng is Opened[]

Wazinu attempts to taint the Chimes of Purity
In the Month of the Ox of 1127 the 11th Black Scroll was opened, [2] the Doom of Fu Leng, by Wazinu. Leading a Crab party he used the Scroll in the attack upon the Four Temples at Kyuden Seppun, during an attempt to taint the Four Sacred Bells. Despite the Seppun Miharu garrison had been nearly destroyed when he opened the scroll, Wazinu was defeated by a group of wandering samurai. [3] After the scheme failed the scroll was cast into Jigoku. [4]
Yokai[]
Wazinu eventually became a Yokai of the Shadowlands. [5]
Freed Yokai[]
In 1133 he escaped through Oblivion's Gate to walk among the living once more, becoming a Freed Yokai. [6]
