Kuni Warden 2

Kuni Warden

The Kuni Wardens school trained those Kuni who lacke the aptitude to become shugenja. These grim monks maintained the Barracks of the Damned, a massive hospital, laboratory, and prison that was also their temple. Experts at subduing Tainted humans and overcoming sorcery, even without weapons, many served at or near the Kaiu Wall. The order sometimes sent its agents to “tend to the spiritual needs” of those who had been exposed to the corruption of Fu Leng in another places of the Empire. [1] In the Barracks they cared, and kept quarantined those bushi of the Crab with the taint that could not continue to live in common society. [2]

Demeanor[]

The wardens who attend to the Damned were as ruthless as they were courageous. They must stand ready to cut down the very companions whose humanity they sought to preserve. [3]

Jade Petal Tea[]

Kuni Wardens carefully controled production and distribution of the Jade Petal Tea, a beverage which when consumed, granted temporary resistance to the Taint and suppressed its effects. They maintained records of all in the Emerald Empire to whom they provided it to. This was done both to monitor its effects on those suffering from the Taint and to ensure there were no Tainted individuals outside of their records. There were frequent attempts to steal tea supplies, and the Kuni were ruthless in tracking down and punishing anyone caught with illicit quantities. [4]
