Kuni Iyedo was an earth shugenja and commander of the Crab Clan.
Jade Magistrate[]
Iyedo was a Jade Magistrate who became the second in command of Seppun Tashime. [1]
Seeking the Grey Woman[]
In 1172 rumours that the Grey Woman had been seen in a monastery in the Shinomen Mori reached Tashime. When they arrived Iyedo confirmed the sohei who dwelled there did not bear the taint. Inside Tashime met the Naga Quelsaurth, one of the Shogun's Advisors, who had been living with the Lost. The naga had spread the rumours to summon Tashime and pass an information he had gathered from the Spider Clan, that Jigoku had a new avatar in the physical world, Kali-Ma. [1]
Hunting the Ebon Daughter[]
The Kuni Daimyo Kuni Kiyoshi entrusted Iyedo to lead the Crab's efforts to find the Ebon Daughter. Kiyoshi, Iyedo and Hida Manoru were in a meeting when they were interrupted by Moshi Minami, the representative to the courts for the Jade Champion Kuni Daigo. She told the Phoenix could aid them in their quest, through the Ritual of Forgetting, which would cut her connection to the kami, and if it was modified, her connection to the foul power drawn from Kali-Ma. Kiyoshi departed to ask the Phoenix to share the secretive ritual. [2] In the month of the Hare of 1173 [3] the ebond Daughter was tracked down and trapped. Iyedo had been entrusted to monitor the Ebon Daughter until her execution. [4]
Death[]
Iyedo impersonated Tashime to uncover Daigotsu Shaiko, and during a visit to a temple she appeared and wounded the Kuni. Tashime confronted her and managed to deadly wound her, but he was severly injured. During his fight Iyedo had been killed by an unknown monk. [5]
