A Kodama
Kodama were Rokugani spirits which lived in trees [1] past the age of thirty, although they prefered to live in oak or ash trees. Cutting down a tree which housed a kodama would cause its death, and the dying spirit dying would curse the persons responsible to great misfortune. [2] They paid little attention to human affairs and usually only interacte with human who have an unusually strong connection to Earth. [3]
