Kitsu Taigen was an elderly historian who adopted Kitsu Ayako as her daughter. He was wise and eager to share his vast wealth of Kōan. [1] He was once a bard, but he began to teach military history at Akodo War College when aged. [2] Taigen was a descendant of Matsu Sakura, the Lion general who was defeated in the Battle of Snow Plain. [3]
