Kitsu Hatsue was a Kitsu Sodan Senzo of the Lion Clan. Born in 1145, Hatsue entered the Kitsu Tombs dojo at the tender age of seven, and passed her gempukku before she was eleven, becoming the youngest ever chosen to tend the Shrine of the First Five. She was the most gifted sodan senzo of her generation. Hatsue resented her talent because other girls her age were still behaving like children, enjoying life and playing. Hatsue felt that she would better suit as a courtier.
