Kanashimi

Kanashimi was the Onisu of Regret and the Nightmare of the Dragon Clan.

Appearance

Kanashimi was a strange woman with lithe and graceful figure, concealed beneath overlapping plates of green and silver armor. Each plate bored the image of a human face, carved in expressions of despair. Its armor was covered in fierce metal spikes. Its skill with the daisho rivaled that of a master duelist from the Mirumoto family.

Sin

Along with Yokubo and Kyofu, Kanashimi represents a powerful force of corruption, the physical manifestation of one of the Three Sins that gave rise to the universe. A subtle and insidious foe, Kanashimi was a Onisu not well known in Rokugan or the Shadowlands, Kanashimi kept to the shadows and hunted solitary prey. It only followed the commands of Hakai and Daigotsu out of convenience more than anything.

The Onisu Unleashed

After the death of Daigotsu's bodyguard, Goju Kyoden, the Dark Lord unleashed the Onisu over Rokugan. They had to reach the homes of the Four Winds and to kill samurai until death. Kanashimi came to the ruins of Kyuden Tonbo, future home of Toturi Sezaru and attacked the Wolf's servant Toturi Koshei. He was beheaded by the wandering monk Kaelung.

Isawa Sezaru

The onisu had remained apart of the war for the Shadowlands supremacy between Daigotsu and Iuchiban, but it eventually joined Fushin in service to the Maw. In 1166 Nakashimi appeared to met Isawa Sezaru in the Northern Wall Mountains, after a brief journey the Wolf made to the Burning Sands. Kanashimi saw too late that Sezaru had no any regret to feed upon and was destroyed by his power.
