Kanako was a geisha, who worked in the House of Floating Petals. [1] Daughter of a carpenter, she lived in the Journey's End City. Kanako was kind with an unexperienced seller of charms and prayers, named Uesuko. [2] She came to her when Kanako was in need of a shugenja. [1]
