In the Rokugani language, the term "kami" essentially means "god". In common use, the term means two completely different things. If capitalized, the term refers to the children of Amaterasu and Onnotangu: the Kami that fell to Rokugan, as well as their brothers Fu Leng and Ryoshun. If uncapitalized, it refers to the spirits of the elements: the kami with whom shugenja commune.
