The Kami were the children of Lady Sun and Lord Moon, inhabitants of the Celestial Heavens who eventually fell to the mortal realm. [1] They found themselves plunged into a mortal world rife with cruelty and war. Some of them became the founders of the Great Clans of Rokugan. [2]

- Togashi - Founder of the Dragon Clan
- Akodo - Founder of the Lion Clan

- Bayushi - Founder of the Scorpion Clan
- Shinjo - Founder of the Ki-Rin Clan, later known as Unicorn Clan
- Fu Leng - the fallen Kami, leader of the Shadowlands
- Ryoshun - his name was lost to history [3]
