Kakita Shoju was a famous playwright and the mentor of Doji Ameiko. He taught her the arts of Noh drama, dance and poetry, and she soon became a fine Crane actress, playing roles such as Lady Matsu, Yuki no Onna and even Lady Doji herself. [1]
