Kakita Shinko was an actress of the Crane Clan who mastered the Kaze-Do. When she retired around 1160 Shinko joined the Brotherhood of Shinsei and founded the Temple of the Winding Stream, claiming that the Kaze-Do wisdom should be available to all. The Kakita were outraged, but the Crane Clan Champion decided to let it go. [1]
