Kaiu Iemasa was the Kaiu Daimyo and a member of the Legion of the Jade Hand.
Kaiu Daimyo[]
Iemasa, who had been appointed as sensei at the Kaiu Engineering School in 1168, succeeded Kaiu Umasu as daimyo of the Kaiu family of the Crab Clan, after his assassination in 1170. When the Destroyers overrun the Crab territory, Iemasa and his command staff withdrew into Scorpion lands. From there he directed the use of new, smaller siege weapons, which were effective in slowing the Destroyers' advance. [1]
Scorpion Wall[]
In 1173 the death of Kali-Ma in the Scorpion lands created the Second Festering Pit. [2] Iemasa was tasked by the Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Miyako with the construction of the Scorpion Wall, which would resemble the Kaiu Wall, defending the Empire from the portal opened to Jigoku. In 1175 Hida Demopen was appointed by the Crab Clan Champion Hida Reiha to command the combined Crab-Scorpion forces that defended the wall builders. [3]

Siege of the Second City[]
In 1198 the Ikoma Daimyo Ikoma Hakige presented to the Imperial Court the accounts of the Siege of the Second City. The Second City had surrendered to the Ninth Imperial Legion and the escapee Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime had been stricken from their family rolls by the Otomo. The Kuni Daimyo Kuni Renyu was instrumental to finish the siege in a quick way, instead a more longer but bloodless conflict. [4] The Crane Clan Champion Doji Makoto argued that Renyu had thwarted any possibility to come to an end through diplomacy and that he instead chose to make the situation devolve into senseless violence. Iemasa claimed the Kuni Daimyo had acted with true loyalty to the Imperial Throne, his words were backed by the Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Nitoshi. [5] The Kaiu contributed greatly to the reconstruction of the Second City after the chaos ended and Iemasa considered the task his most glorious exit from this life. [6]
Sensei[]
Iemasa became a sensei who passed his knowledge to the next generations. [7]
