A Kōan could take many forms: poem, riddle, parable, question, story, statement, or something else. Regardless of how it was presented, it was a paradox, meant to be meditated upon by students in hopes that they might achieve some semblance of understanding. [1] The Togashi were devoted to kōan in the form of riddle. [2]
If the candlelight is fire, the meal is long-cooked.[3]
