Ishiken Initiate
Ishiken was the Rokugani term for those shugenja attuned to the Void element who were trained in the Starry Heaven Sanctuary. [1] These individuals were capable of delving into the Void and pulling at the seams of reality at the cost of the self. [2]
Tradition[]
If a non-samurai exhibited a potential to wield the Void, the Phoenix Clan formally adopted them. If the candidate was a samurai not from their clan, the Phoenix Clan must often negotiate to bring them into the clan, using marriage pacts or an exchange of adoptions. Once recruited, initiates underwent intensive training including meditation, study, and a physical regimen, to help them control their abilities. [3]
