Isawa Tokiuji was a shugenja of the Phoenix Clan and the Master of Void during the first Gozoku.
Expanding the Isawa School[]
In 435 the Isawa Castle became too small for their outgrowing student population. The Phoenix Clan Champion Shiba Toshiken was willing to expand the facilities, but Tokiuji, then Master of the Void, decided to expand the school across all the lands of the Phoenix. Five promising student of each Elemental Master were granted the title of Adept, becoming the new sensei of the expanded school. [1] She gifted each of them with prayer beads carved from the wood of the Mori Isawa and etched with symbols echoing the chosen Element,, to help them begin their school. [2]
