Isawa Michikata was the Master of Earth under the rule of Hantei XX. In 665 he and his acolytes helped to restore damaged croplands during the Great Famine. The Phoenix in return got prestigious marriage arrangements and other political favors. [1] The prominent nakodo Otomo Madoka was instrumental in the marriage of all of his children. [2]
