An Imperial Edict was an order by the Emperor and was considered inviolate by Rokugani law. [1]
Known Edicts[]
- 4th century [2] - Direct warfare is forbidden between the Great Clans. [3]
- Middle of fifth century - Trade or any direct contact with gaijin is forbidden. [4]
- 510 - All bodies must be cremated rather than buried or entombed. [5]
- Early of seventh century - The Five Highways have to be maintained. [6]
- 815 - The ancestral lands of the Ki-Rin Clan are given back to the returned Unicorn Clan.
- 1123 - No Imperial Laws will be ammended, repealed, proposed or enacted until a new Emerald Champion is selected through the Emerald Tournament to fill the vacant post at that time. [7]
- 1123 - The Emperor Hantei the Thirty-Eighth names his younger son, Hantei Daisetsu, as his heir, rather than his older son Hantei Sotorii. [8]
- Unknown - The Golden Sun Plains were sacres, and tilling or settling this land, or taking anything from its bounty, was forbidden. [9]
