The Imperial Astrologer surveyed the sky and their heavenly bodies, checking the Celestial pattern. He interpreted celestial points and their placements at the time of the event to better understand someone. When the pattern did not follow what was expected it was considered an omen of conflict in the Celestial Heavens. [1]
