Ikoma Rumiko was an Ikoma Shadow of the Lion.

Appearance and Demeanor[]

Rumiko was a complicated woman who sought out the simplicity of humor. As an Ikoma Bard, she was happy to carry the hardships and express the emotion that the rest of her clan could not. Gregarious, playful, and kind, Rumiko had a striking countenance, stout limbs, and a deep voice that could carry even over the din of a room. She wore her brown hair loose in a side ponytail, with layers that curled around her round cheeks and ears. She gained fame as a Kabuki actor who was able to take on any role. As an actor, she could adopt any emotion or personality at will. Rumiko wanted someone to appreciate her talent and provide her with new material for her comedies and characters, but she could not risk the liability of a spouse interfering with her missions. However, as wholehearted as she was, she might agree to a secret marriage for love, in which neither party acknowledged the other publicly. [1]

Winter Court - 1122[]

As a shinobi trained in the Lion's Ikoma Shadow School, Rumiko was sent in 1122 the Imperial Winter Court at Kyūden Doji, an event which was attended as well by a Mantis delegation, whose invitation had been forged by her. Rumiko had been part of an Ikoma kabuki troupe which was ferried by the Hurricane to Gotei City, and took the opportunity to deliver the forged invitation. There Rumiko had to ensure the Lion's plan was kept safe and secret, and also to help thwart the Crane whenever the opportunity arose. [2]

The Tale of the Fisherman's Daughter[]

As a famed Kabuki actress she cast during the Winter Court as the island spirit in The Tale of the Fisherman's Daughter, an old woman who wore an iconic white headpiece of wildly flowing hair called shirogashira. When the maiden Doji Mioko was isolated and had no one to turn to but the kami of the isles, the spirit of the island made herself known, and offered no shortage of marriage advice. [1]
