Ikoma Murame was the founder of the Murame family, a vassal family of the Ikoma.
Akodo War College[]
Murame was the leader of the Ikoma who tended the Akodo War College during the banishment of the Akodo family. He and his men favored military prowess over anything else, so when in 1133 the Akodo were reinstated, returning to the College, left Murame's followers out of place in the Ikoma family. [1]
Founder[]
The Ikoma agreed that these samurai were not simply Ikoma anymore, something new had been born. Murame was granted a vassal family name, guardians of the Ikoma lands. The family was led by Murame and later by his son Murame Nitobe. [1]
