Ikoma Hideri was a historian of the Lion Clan. [1]
Demeanor[]
Hideri was wispy, scholarly woman who had a precise memory but also recorded everything she saw on scrolls. She played many instruments but always carried her flute, which had been handed down through her family and was her pride and joy. [2]
Death[]
Hideri was assigned to Matsu Sakura's army during her campaign against the Unicorn Clan, [3] to record the battles for posterity. She did not take part in the fighting, but roused the troops before each battle, telling the stories of their ancestors. Hideri admired Sakura [2] and used to advise her about Unicorn tactics during the Battle of Snow Plain. [4] On the fourth day of the battle Hideri's tent was set ablaze, and despite she was rescued, she died due to the smoke inhaled. She left no records behind, which ashamed her descendants, such as Ikoma Ichigo. Her work was lost through no fault of her own, the spy Shosuro Yasu was responsible of Hideri's death, to advance the Scorpion agenda in the conflict. The Scorpion wanted the battle recorded as a Unicorn win that was accomplished due to Scoprion aid, so that when memories had faded in the future, the Scorpion could claim a diamond-rich mine in the mountains nearby.
