People

Ikoma Hasaku was a tactician commander of the Lion Clan.

Appearance[]

Hasaku was of average height and stocky build. Through study he became a highly skilled military leader. He relied on planning and superior tactics to wear down and defeat otherwise more talented foe. [2]

Imperial Legion[]

Hasaku was appointed as commander of the second Imperial Legion. [3]

War of the Rich Frog[]

After the corruption of Akodo Tadenori in the Rain of Blood [4] the Lion defenders of the City of the Rich Frog were forced out of the westernmost quarter of the city. The introduction of the Dragon Clan in the conflict was a shock to the Lion, as they captured the northern districts of the city. [5]

City's Commander[]

Hasaku was appointed as the new commander of the Lion armies in the city, selected for the role more as a result of his Ikoma heritage and circumstance than he was for his skills, a fact that irked him greatly. Hasaku balked the Unicorn advance since he had taken command. [2]

Stalemate[]

The introduction of the Dragon Clan in the conflict was a shock to the Lion, as they captured the northern districts of the city. [6] Hasaku adapted to the new contingencies introduced by Mirumoto Kei, the Dragon general, despure the Kaeru were far from reliable soldiers. [2] Matsu Nimuro was most displeased with the progress he had made in protecting the city during the War of the Rich Frog, and Ikoma Otemi would relief him. [7]

Death[]

Ikoma Hasaku

In 1166 Hasaku he was stepped down and his command passed to Ikoma Otemi. The new commander saw in the record of orders received by Hasaku from Nimuro that they were somewhat erratic. The same weakness that Nimuro denounced Hasaku for appeared to stem directly from the Champion's change in orders. Hasaku committed seppuku with Otemi as his second. [8] [9]
