Ikoma Emihiko was a duelist of the Lion Clan

Emihiko was a young student at the Whispering Blade Dōjō in Lonely Shore City. Mirumoto Ikutsuki was very much their superior with a sword than his classmates and supremely arrogant about it. The other students conspired to discredit their prideful classmate, who was caught out in an embarrassing situation involving the spouse of one of their teachers, intending only to teach him some humility. Instead, matters quickly spiraled out of control, and Ikutsuki was not only cast out of the dōjō; he was cast out of his clan as well, as a rōnin, under the name of Hagane. [1]
Death[]
Nearly fourty years later Emihiko was living Footnote Village, and she had a niece, Kitsu Shiori, at First Blossom Shrine, a day's journey away. Emihiko was attacked by the vengeful spirit of Hagane, which had escaped from the underworld. A group of samurai confronted her assailant, but she died due to her wounds. Before she passed away Emihiko warned them about the next victim, Shiba Akifusa. [2]
