Ide Shikibu was married to Ide Baranato, and had two sons, Ide Michikane, and Ide Asamitsu. They lived at Ryoko Owari Toshi. [1]
Son's death[]
The loss of Michikane with an opium overdose hurt her deeply, ashamed by the way he died [2] in 1122. Shikibu follower her traditions and made a soup that contained her own blood and poured it on the grave to feed her son's ghost and settle it. This ritual was an usual one for the Unicorn when a child died before his parents, to apologize to the child for not dying first. [3]
Opium War[]
His husband was a good man but the matter pushed him too far and he engineered the Opium War as revenge for their son's death. [4]
