The Horiuchi Shugenja school, also known as Meishodo Shugenja, had it roots from long before the Ki-Rin's return to Rokugan. During the Ki-Rin's Exodus, the Unicorn discovered many different methods and styles of magic, incorporating them into a single method. After the Horiuchi family was formed they became some of the foremost practitioners of the meishodo method and in modern times the school bore the Horiuchi name. [1]
