Kakita Hojaro was a duelist of the Crane Clan who left his clan as a ronin, Hojaro. He began a life of banditry, always fleeing at the sight of any magistrate. Eventually he was confronted by the young yoriki Daidoji Kirasi, who challenged the former Kakita. Hojaro accepted, relying in his experience as duelist, but fell to the Kirasi's greater technique.
