Hida Tampako was a Crab Clan samurai.

Demeanor[]

Tampako, nephew to Hida Kisada, [1] was famous for his defensive prowess and his unit was often used as a reserve to exploit and hold a position once it had been created by the first Crab wave. [2]

Scorpion Coup[]

In the fourth day of the Scorpion Coup, Hida Kisada arrived at Otosan Uchi and turned his red flag, Kisada's Allegiance, toward the Clans encampments. The Crab forces attacked the Southern Wall before it was too dark to fight, with Tampako and Yasuki Nokatsu with the Crab Heavy Infantry, alongside Hida Amoro with his Dead-Eyes Berserkers, and Kaiu Kenru overseeing the siege engines. They were confronted by Bayushi Togai and Bayushi Dozan with their Black Cabal, Bayushi Tomaru with his Scorpion Claws, and Bayushi Tasu with his Scorpion's Strike. [3]

Fighting in the Wall[]

In 1125 Tampako, Hiruma Kage and the new recruit Hiruma Yugure defended the Kaiu Wall against the attack of a marauding oni of feline face. [4]

Clan War[]

Anvil of Despair[]

In 1127 a small Phoenix army led by Inquisitor Asako Yurito [5] escorted the Anvil of Despair, a powerful tainted nemuranai, toward its destruction in the Amaterasu's Furnace, the only place of purity within the Shadowlands. An army of tainted Crab troops arrayed itself to stop the Phoenix force and take the Anvil. Yakamo no Oni was the general of the tainted Crab, and Hida Amoro and Tampako his lieutenants. Having been alerted to the importance of Yurito's mission, a Unicorn army intercepted the Crab force with the purpose of clearing a safe path for the Phoenix. [6]

Fighting the Possessed Hantei[]

Tampako decided to remain loyal to his uncle Kisada against the possesed Emperor, Hantei XXXIX. [7] After the Crab defeat at Otosan Uchi in 1128 he was beside Hida Yakamo and his Jade Hand, facing their Lost fellows, including the Kuni Daimyo Kuni Yori, who were sided with the corrupted Hantei. Yakamo ordered the Crab to assault the Imperial City again, alongside the combined forces of the Great Clans. [8]

Death[]

In 1133 Tampako died in the Battle of Oblivion's Gate. [9]

Second Death[]

Tampako return as a spirit and died during the War of Spirits, where he fought on the side of Hantei XVI alongside Hida Tsuneo. [10]
