Gugaku was a bandit ronin of the 9th century.
Sighing Moon Murders[]
The corpses of Miya Ebekko and her two assistants were found inside the Shinomen Forest. It took the eta several days to collect the many fragments of bone and flesh. Some said Gugaku had murdered them for the six koku they carried. Maddened, he hacked and butchered them to cover his trail. The place was haunted by the restless spirits of the women, and it was known as the Sighing Moon Murders. [1]
