Soshi Idaurin was an Air Shugenja and Magistrate of the Scorpion Clan. Idaurin was a gaijin name, that some said was just another mask she wore. [1]
War of Honor[]
Bayushi Saka and Bayushi Hikoko provoked a conflict [2] with the Lion. [3] The Scorpion had attacked an Imperial ambassadorship caravan [4] near a Crane village, and the assailants had planted a dagger [5] with the Matsu mon. [6] Saka considered Akodo Dosei a straight-laced buffoon who had no inkling what was really going on there. By the time he realized it, it would all be over. [7] Matsu Fumiyo considered a blasphemy that a Lion's blade was found at the scene of a crime. [8] The Dragon revealed the truth, however, and the Scorpion were exposed. [9] A Lion army was given an opportunity to avenge a debt of honor. [10] Idaurin arranged her aid to Saka against the Lion for a favor. [11] The Phoenix meddled to stop the fight among both clans, [12] as well as the Dragon. [13] It was a dispute between two clans, with two more involved in a misguided attempt to mediate. [14] Disagreements between the clans caused great chaos and discord, but the situation ultimately benefited the Imperial families in one way or another, [15] and they had permitted the war to begin, as they provided the Scorpion the planted item. [16]
Ambushed by Destroyers[]
In 1172 during the Destroyer War Idaurin was part of a group in the Soshi lands which was conducting an important transfer. They transported the madman Soshi Natsuo and a scroll, [17] the Essence of Destruction, who the Scorpion had seized and substituted in its place with the unknown to the Empire Essence of Jigoku, recovered from the Tomb of the Seven Thunders, deceiving the Phoenix. [18] The Scorpion were ambushed by Destroyers and many were killed in the battle. The fate of Idaurin was not clear, because she was not found alive by the group who found her dead companions. [19] She was considered dead. [20]
