Doji Saneyo was the daughter of the Crane Clan Champion Doji Morito. She joined the Brotherhood of Shinsei.
Suitor[]
Saneyo had a suitor of lower station, Tetsuken, the youngest son of the Mantis Clan Champion. After his father's death Tetsuken became the Mantis Champion, but his overtures to the Crane to marry Saneyo were futile. In 665 her father arranged her hand to Tetsuken if the bold bushi could manage to destroy a Shadowlands fleet which was harassing the southern coast of Rokugan, and Tetsuken defeated them, at the cost of his life. Retirement[]
Legend said that after Tetsuken's death Saneyo shaved her head and joined a monastery. [2]
