Doji Hekiro was the Crane Clan Champion during the reign of Hantei XVI.
Crane Champion[]
In 591 his brother Doji Rin, the Crane Clan Champion and Emerald Champion, suffered a campign of discredit. He eventually retired to a monastery after his daughter Doji Hime became concubine to the Emperor Hantei XVI. Hekiro succeeded him. [1]
Death[]
During the Winter Court of 594, Hantei XVI and his advisors forced other Crane senior members into situations wherein they would disgrace themselves. Twelve prominent Crane committed seppuku over the course of the winter, and Hekiro was executed in punishment for the actions of his subordinates. [2]
