Direction Finder was a lodestone rod suspended in a bowl of water that pointed always to the south. It was found only on the largest and most seaworthy of Mantis vessels. This device was developed from a gift Gusai Mori received from the gaijin Merenae ambassadors and still rested on display in Kyuden Gotei. [1]
