Daigotsu Manobu was the chief of a group of Obsidian Magistrates.
Born in the Shadowlands[]
Manobu was born in the Shadowlands, among the Lost. His father Akodo Emon was a bushi tainted during the Battle of Oblivion's Gate. His mother was Hiruma Mayu, a scout who run out of jade too far from the Kaiu Wall. They became honored heroes of the Lost, revered among the founders of the City of the Lost. [1]
Hatred for the Nezumi[]
Manobu was raised as a bushi, a loyal follower of the Dark Lord. He was particularly hateful toward the Nezumi, after members of the Crippled Bone Tribe had killed his parents. He became obsessed with the Nezumi, and began to be known as the Ratslayer. Manobu had captured and interrogated many Nezumi, eager to learn as much as possible about their race. When new tribes appeared in the Shadowlands, Manobu summoned his armies and crushed them before they could unite with others. His trademark armor was decorated in the bones of the ratlings. [1]
Third Rise of Iuchiban[]
When Iuchiban defeated Daigotsu and the Dark Lord fled the City of the Lost, Manobu was one of many who followed him. Manobu was galled that Daigotsu entered into an alliance with the Stained Paw Tribe, but he did not question his Lord. [1]
Nezumi City[]
Manobu and his magistrates patrolled a city that the Tsuno Soultwisters had retrieved from Yume-do in 1165. It was a nezumi city that was transported to the Realm of Dreams by the Nezumi Shamans more than a thousand years ago. He was obsessed for hunting the nezumi that dwelled the city. He was called M'atch-tek'ch, the Tomorrow's bushi. [2]
Death[]
His gunso, Daigotsu Takima, believed he had to be stepped down, because Manobu's obsession was not in favor of Daigotsu situation. He found Suiteiru no Oni, an oni who had been trapped in the city when it was in the other realm, and explained the Shadowlands civil war between Iuchiban and Daigotsu. Suiteru no Oni killed Manobu as a necessary step to support better the Dark Lord. [2]

Creatures of Rokugan: Third Edition claims Manobu was killed in 1158. This is not possible, as Manobu was alive during the Third Rise of Iuchiban. The fictions were dated at the timeline they were written, 1165. Oni no Pikachu (talk) 18:18, October 19, 2015 (UTC) |
