The Courtier's Obi was a gift to the Doji family in 353 after Asahina's marriage and joining the Crane Clan. The obi was a sky blue and made of the finest silk. At one end, sewn in the finest white was the Crane mon and on the other was the Dojo mon, allowing both mons to show if tied properly. The wearer gained a confidence unparalleled in matters of etiquette and diplomacy. [1]
