Copper was a precious material mined in Rokugan. It was commonly found in the Spine of the World Mountains, [1] especially in the Lion territories, and had many uses throughout the Empire, [2] such as fabricating tools and other mundane items. [3]
Holy Home Tradition[]
The Phoenix peasants at Holy Home Village had no access to crystal or jade, so they tried to test the taint with copper. The so-called "copper test" pierced a body part with a wire which was supposed to tarnish if Tainted. Women pierced their navels to make sure their children will be born free of taint. [4]
