The Chokai province was a province of the Dragon Clan. During the reign of Emperor Hantei XVI the Rokugani suffered famine, and the Phoenix began a covert campaign to help the rest of the Empire. Once these efforts were exposed the Steel Chrysanthemum sent in 610 Seppun forces who raze the city of Nikesake. They later invaded the Chokai Province with orders to destroy every samurai within the Mirumoto family province. Two Mirumoto managed to escape the slaughter: a boy just out of his gempukku and his forty year old sensei. They fled to Lion lands. [1] Hantei XVI had the 100 Seppun hung upon stakes along the Imperial Road near Otosan Uchi. [2]
