Child of Water was a ronin technique devised by Akodo Kaneka, [1] who had been saved by the Water Dragon when he was still not born. Kaneka's mother, the geisha Hatsuko, was with boy when she had been hurled over the catarats of Sorrow's Falls during the Scorpion Coup. [2] The Dragon held the two in stasis until it was time for Kaneka to be revealed to the world. [3]
The fluid, graceful essence of the Water Dragon permeated the actions of the samurai. [1]
