The centipede was the companion and messenger of the Guardian of the North Wind, and a creature of great speed and cunning. [1]

The Valley of the Centipede was named for the insects that infested the rocky ground. A small vassal family of the Isawa settled there, and they would became a Minor Clan, the Centipede Clan. [2]
