Carpenter Castle
Carpenter Castle, the Kaiu Castle, was the ancestral seat of power of the Kaiu family. [1] On its armory was placed those items of extraordinary design who had been used by Crab heroes. [2] The Third Whisker tribe of the nezumi lived near Shiro Kaiu. [3]

The castle predated and adjoined the Kaiu Wall. The interior of Carpenter Castle was almost entirely mechanized, with platforms that rise and lower via groups of pulleys and counterweights, gear-propelled conveyor belts made of reed mats, a complex alarm system, and lever-operated gates. In the entrance hall stood a famous music box boasting a wide selection of twinkling songs. Within the castle's large courtyard, the legendary forge of the original Kaiu, the Kaiu Forge was still in operation. [4]
