The Captain of the Imperial Guard is a title given to the leader of the Seppun Miharu, the bodyguards protecting the Emperor. There were several minor captains at a time, who came from any of the clans. [1]

The Captains were assisted by Kitsu Sodan Senzo in each of the Imperial City gates. They watched any who entered into Otosan Uchi, passing underneath a crystal torii arch, which would glow if they were Tainted. [1]
