The Blood River was a wide river of blood and viscera which bordered Tōshigoku, the Realm of Eternal Slaugher. It was the destination of recently deceased pirates who stole and killed wantonly. Scholars believed the Blood River mimicked the path of the famous Three Stone River, and in certain hours, it and the Blood River became one. Jizō, the Fortune of Mercy, was a common sight along its shores. [1]
