Bayushi Ogoe was Scorpion Clan Champion in the early 9th century.
Married[]
Ogoe married Bayushi Shinoko, who in 805 began a legendary courtly rivalry with the Mirumoto Daimyo Mirumoto Kaijuko. [1]
Threatens[]
By the 8th century, the Scorpion Clan was at its zenith. However, this very success threatened to undo everything the clan had achieved. The Lion and Crab had begun threatening moves with armies far superior to anything the Scorpion could muster, while the Crane Clan focused its political and economic power to thwart the Scorpion's power in the courts and trade. [2] Ogoe knew that the Scorpion were not meant to be ascendant, they were meant to be in the shadows. [3]
White Shore Plain[]
In 815 Ogoe tasked his Rikugunshokan Bayushi Tozasu to fight the recently returned Unicorn Clan, but to intentionally lose in order to appear weak to the Unicorn and the rest of the Empire. Tozasu was comprehensibly beaten at the Battle of White Shore Plain, and the Scorpion were successfully underestimated. [4]
Tozasu-san, I need you to muster your army. We're going to war with these Unicorns. And I need you to lose.
