Bayushi Noburu was the father of Bayushi Yojiro. He was also an advisor to the Scorpion Clan Champion, Bayushi Shoju. When a Crane duelist was about to trap Shoju in a duel he couldn't refuse, Noburu saw a way out of the situation, therefore saving the life of the Scorpion daimyo. In return for his quick thinking, Shoju offered him a boon. Noburu responded that what he wanted was to let his son serve the Scorpion Champion as he did. Shoju agreed, and the young Yojiro was admitted to the Bayushi Courtier school. [1]
When Noburu saw his son was amazed with honor and duty, because of the books he was reading, he took them away from his son. This didn't affected Yojiro's search for bushido, because the young junshin received the help of his closest friend Matsu Agetoki and other young Lion and Crane samurai to send him the books he wanted to read.
