Bayushi Hibiki was a Bayushi Manipulator of the Scorpion Clan. In 1123 he attended a wedding at Kyotei Castle. [1] Despite being only a distant cousin of the bride, Shiba Itsuyo, Hibiki had been graced with an invitation to her wedding. He had only met her once, on a visit to the city of Nikesake, but she seemed pure of heart and dedicated to her martial arts. But even as a mere distant relation, family ties demanded loyalty. One of his lord's rivals within the Scorpion Clan had sent agents, posing as bandits in his lands, cementing this rumor of weakness. Hibiki was to find out what these agents were doing and why and report back. He was only to act against them if he believed their plan endangered the interest of the Scorpion Clan. [2]
