Bayushi Hazame was a bushi of the Scorpion Clan who became a ronin

Hazame had an idealistic outlook, driven by a deep desire to see the Scorpion became a “pure” Clan. [1]
Winter Court - 1168[]
Hazame served as a bodyguard for K'mee for much of Winter Court at Kyuden Otomo in 1168. He became a close friend to the Lion Clan, showing clear sympathy for their ideals (and clear hostility to the Unicorn Clan). When the Imperial Chancellor Bayushi Kaukatsu punished him for this, he suffered a crisis of conscience and ultimately cast aside his oaths of fealty to the Scorpion and became a ronin, seeking employment with the Lion.
