The Battle of Tidal Landbridge was a smaller battle that ocurred when a sizeable force of Shadowlands creatures attacked the Crab Clan defenses. A smaller group of creatures led by the cunning Kinjiro no Oni, separated from the main Shadowland attack and attacked the sparsely defended watchtower near Earthquake Fish Bay. [1]

The Crab Clan defenders were doomed to be overwhelmed by sheer weight of numbers, yet when all seemed lost the Daidoji Daimyō Daidoji Masashigi and his bodyguards crossed over the landbridge at low tide, engaging the oni. Their charge eventually drew the Shadowlands forces back out into the bay, where the rising tide engulfed them. [1]
Aftermath[]
No Crane survived the battle, and when Masashigi's battered kabuto helmet washed up on shore, the Crab built a shrine in which to house it. Crab survivors began to refer to the Daidoji as "Iron Cranes." The invaders defeated at this battle were only a harbinger of the threat to come. The next year, the forces of the great oni remembered as "The Maw" swept across Crab lands. [1]
