Preambles[]
In the year 716 the vast army of The Maw assaulted the Crab lands, which fell back and regrouped near Hida Castle. While Kuni Osaku kept at bay the Shadowlands horde, the Crab began to build defenses along the Saigo River. The General Hiruma Takezo took a small contingent of Hiruma soldiers and expecting to lure a portion of the Shadowlands forces away before they regained the courage to try crossing the river again. Takezo and 75 Hiruma archers left Hida Castle and sped through secret tunnels to the far side of the Saigo River. [1]
Battle[]
Takezo's archers began harassing the right flank of the Shadowlands Horde, and with the sunset the Hiruma soldiers raced across the grasslands towards the foothills with the abominations giving chase. For ten days Takezo and his archers led their adversaries through the Twilight Mountains until they found themselves trapped in a sharply angled valley, withdrawing down into a sharp vale, leaping over the ledge. The oni quickly followed, and as the first enemies reached the base of the hill two hundred Crab soldiers rose and charged from the tall grass on the valley floor, cutting down the Shadowlands creatures. [2]
Aftermath[]
It took another month for Takezo to lead his men out of the Twilight Mountains. The cliffs where they had fought so bravely were named after their valiant general. [2]
