The Battle of Grim Resolve marked the destruction of the Bear Clan, a Minor Clan that supposedly had fallen into Mahō, obliterated by Lion forces at the Emperor's order. [1]
Preambles[]
In the early seventh century, Emperor Hantei XVII was reported by an unnamed Emerald Magistrate that many of the Bear had fallen ill and were starving. A deeper investigation exposed that the Bear Clan Champion was a mahō-tsukai and many of her followers had also adopted the vile practice. The Emperor ordered the Lion Clan to put an end to the threat. [1]
Battle[]
The Bear Clan made their last stand near the present-day village of Shaiga, but the army led by the Lion Clan Champion oumatched the defenders. Those few who survived fled into the Kitsune Forest. When the battle ended, the Bear Clan had been obliterated. [1]
Aftermath[]
Some scholars speculated that the Lion had made a secret agreement with the Emperor to destroy the Bear Clan as a way to glorify their own clan and enhance their reputation for martial ruthlessness. [1]
